Look at What You're Doing Right

When planning your strategy for the next year, it's important to look at your biggest wins from the previous year. Celebrate them (you deserve to!) but also look at what you and your team did to make them happen. If you've found strategies that work, make sure you know what they are so you can implement them into the next phase of your business. 

Look at What You're Doing Wrong, But Don't Dwell On It

After you look at your successes, take a look at what didn't work and learn from those experiences. What worked and didn't work about those initiatives? What changes could you have made to increase your chances of success? It's not about focusing on your mistakes but on what you learn from them as you continue to grow. Remember, there's no such thing as failure as long as you learn from your losses and turn them into wins down the road. 

Rally the Troops 

A leader is only as good as the team they surround themselves with, so make sure you've got a solid group of people behind you who care as much about success as you do. Make sure your employees feel appreciated and like they are a part of a team driven to succeed together! Employees may be returning to the office with a bit of holiday fatigue, so try planning a happy hour or other fun activity to help your team members connect and prepare for the year ahead. 

Growth Mindset 

The right mindset can make all the difference when it comes to your success as a business owner. That is especially true with the growth mindset, which tells us to "embrace challenges, value effort, and learn from our mistakes." When you embrace these qualities, you set yourself on the path to success because you're open to learning as you go along, thus setting yourself up for future wins. So, when you go into the office Tuesday morning, check in with yourself and make sure your mind is in the right place so you can kick the new year off right.
